DreamHack finalized experiential plans for the upcoming all-digital, at-home, interactive experience DreamHack Beyond, which runs July 24-31 and offering fansfeature themed worlds, 20+ festival halls, game demos, hourly tournaments (including Hearthstone and Rocket League), the first DreamHack Battle of the Bands, cosplay competitions, panels, screenings, speed-running, tabletop competitions and more. Screening partners will include Crunchyroll. Hi-YAH!, and Shudder. Additional activities will include a the first ever digital B@YOC WAN PARTY in the Ultra Dome as well as a digital Expo Hall, an Indie Playground and the Student Game Showcase.|

In addition, Dreamhack named Full Sail University as an educational partner for the festival where Full Sail University will produce multiple educational panels and streaming events COMPETITION Evo cemented its ties to Las Vegas, announcing that Evo 2021 continues this November 27-28 with a new global competition featuring winners from the regional online events. Under new ownership, the company will debut Evo 2021 Showcase in a move to crown a Champion of Champions. In total, 40 of the world’s best fighters will battle in-person at Las Vegas venue UFC APEX. With $125,000 in total prizes, titles will include Guilty Gear -Strive; Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate; Skullgirls 2nd Encore; Street Fighter V: Champion Edition; and TEKKEN 7. Each game will have two champions from each participating Evo region, including North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
The LCS Championships found a home for 2021, and will take place at Prudential Center in Newark on August 28 and 29. Fans and press will be able to attend an LCS event for the first time since the 2019 Summer Finals in Detroit. The event will also serve as its first LAN event since our 2019 Summer Finals in Detroit. Before the matches begin each day, the LCS will be hosting an outdoor pre-game Fan Fest experience for ticket holders. Held in Championship Plaza and along Mulberry Street, fans can expect food, games and merch from LCS teams and partners.
Nerd Street Gaming is being tapped, in collaboration with Wisdom Gaming, to serve as the official tournament and broadcast operators for Riot Games’ League of Legends: Wild Rift: Summoner Series. The pair will oversee registration, design, operations, and production of the tournament from July to October and mark Nerd Street’s first venture into mobile gaming tournaments. The tournament will consist of qualifier rounds, a last chance qualifier, and a championship tournament taking place in October.

Here are some key insights about food brands leveraging on Twitch:
· Chipotle generated 83K Twitch chat mentions during June. Announced in June, Chipotle, along with Ally Bank, are the first brands to become part of Twitch’s Official Marketing Partners program for /twitchgaming.
· McDonald’s procured the most Twitch chat mentions last month with 325K. During this month, McDonald’s ran an ad on Twitch featuring popular Twitch streamers itshafu and dogdog that helped create more mentions across Twitch.
· Hot Pockets had 31K Twitch chat mentions in June. Back in March, NRG Esports and Hot Pockets signed a partnership deal that involved branded content for both esports and streamers across Twitch and social media, likely leading to increased engagement on Twitch. Call of Duty League team Minnesota Røkkr signed a multiyear deal with USAA as the team’s Official Insurance and Military Appreciation Partner. As part of this new multi-year agreement, USAA and Røkkr will launch Røkkr Regiment, offering special offerings and unique experiences. USAA will be the first-ever partner of Minnesota Røkkr to appear on both the teams’ in-game and Røkkr will also host a USAA-sponsored Call of Duty: Warzone tournament for military service members and produce USAA-sponsored, fan-facing content and in-broadcast segments during Røkkr’s match-day programming.
OverActive Media named Bud Light as the official beer partner of its Call of Duty League franchise, Toronto Ultra, with the activation focusing on custom content creation that includes a player-focused social media campaign as well as collaborations between fans and players. In addition, the partnership will also see both entities collaborate to create a limited-edition playoff beer can that will be designed and sold to celebrate Toronto Ultra’s playoff run through the CDL Championship.
National CineMedia, the largest cinema advertising network in the US, and Harena Data, a esports community aggregator, entered into an exclusive esports advertising and content monetization agreement. As part of the new deal, NCM will have the exclusive right to sell advertising across Harena Data’s ad-supported esports content and events in the United States, including in movie theaters, on streaming media, and in place-based locations such as bars, restaurants, and family entertainment venues. Beasley Esports, owner of the Overwatch League’s Houston Outlaws, is gassing up The Search For The Next Rocket League Team, a unique competition to find and sign their first Rocket League team. Competition begins with two Qualifiers and Broadcasts produced in tandem with PAX Online during the weekends of July 17 and Aug. 7. Beasley Esports will narrow down its selection to the Top 16 Teams followed by a Final Four Series of Best-of-X Sets which will all take place the weekend of August 21 & 22.
